A topological functioning model (TFM), also called a topological model and a topological model of () functioning, is one of mathematical modeling languages for the description of system’s functionality. Therefore, nodes in the graph represent functional features of the system, while directed arcs represent their topological relationships. Like industry standards such as Unified Modeling Language Activity Diagrams, BPMN, EPC (event-driven process chain), the TFM suggests a graphical notation for representation of processes in the system. Similarly to Petri nets, the TFM has an exact mathematical definition. Unlike other mathematical models, the TFM requires identification of functioning cycles. ==Overview== The TFM offers a way to model and analyze system’s functionality and functioning cycle structures using simple mathematical and system theoretical means from a computation independent viewpoint. Information for modeling may be taken from verbal descriptions such as documents, diagramms, ontologies, schemas, interviews, work instructions, user stories, business or product requirements specifications, as well as from mathematical expressions and expert knowledge about the system. The TFM allows providing software conformity to the system, wherein it will work. This conformity is achieved by bridging a problem domain (the system) and a solution domain (software) using a precise mapping mechanism between models of the corresponding domains, verifying adequacy of business requirements to the system, as well as generating system use cases and system’s general architecture from it. The TFM can be applied to various kinds of systems such as mechanical, biological and business. Compared with UML Activity Diagrams, BPMN, EPC and Petri Nets, the TFM suggests a non-fragmentary view on the processes of the system with a less notational elements and mathematical mechanisms for identification of the system’s boundaries, its communication “interfaces” with its users or other systems, and causal dependencies among functional parts of the system. The TFM is not finished completely yet. And it is not well-known in the software development community. 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Topological functioning model」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
